Partners

Support Organisations are the important project partners for facilitating project implementation by providing community mobilization and institutional strengthening of Water Users Associations at the tank level. One support organizations will be in place for a 5 to 10 cluster of tanks.  

The livelihood enhancement of tank based user’s approach of the project calls for convergence with outside organizations at various levels. Therefore project design has convergence plan with existing programmes of several line departments of GoAP such as Rural Development, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Forestry etc. The convergence will help complement the interventions proposed in the project.

The project implementation plan has provision for partnership with a group of organizations as a livelihood consortium partner that will provide strategic guidance to the project. Similarly to strengthen the project implementation on an on-going basis experience of research organizations and other public institutions such as ICRISAT, ANGRAU, MANAGE, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) s etc will be utilised as a partner to this project.  These organizations will help the project in bringing their experiences in the areas of extensive approach in optimizing productivity of the existing crops by disseminating improved technology, providing need-based adoption support and piloting of new crops through market led extension.

Agri-business is one of the most important aspects of project objective as well as the project design. Partnership with private companies will provide the assured market based on quality standards, agro-climatic suitability of the new crops, and availability of technical expertise, etc.

Similarly project has entered into a partnership with Andhra Pradesh State Remote Sensing Application Center (APSRAC) for Assessment of hydrology of each tank. The monitoring and evaluation of the project is carried out by an external monitoring and evaluation agency.

The project also envisages to rope in with other research and consultancy organizations as well as individuals to bring in knowledge and expertise while implementing the project.
